FREE Mulch from Douglas County Saturday, May 11 and Saturday, May 28
Residents are welcome to Douglas County’s annual, free mulch pick-up on Saturday, May 11 and on Saturday, May 18, 2013 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Castle Rock Water Treatment Plant, 1400 Caprice Dr. in Castle Rock.
No slash will be accepted on these days.
The County will also provide free front-end loader assistance to load mulch into residential pickups and trailers. Please bring covers for truck beds and trailers to keep mulch in place when transporting.
The mulch is 100% recycled tree trimmings and other brush clearings that have been delivered to Douglas County’s slash collection sites by residents during last years collection season.
In case of inclement weather, please call 303.663.6274 to ensure that the mulch pickup will still occur as scheduled.
2013 Slash Site Collecting Opening
The Douglas County’s slash site, located in Castle Rock, is tentatively scheduled to open on May 25 through September 7 for intake during the summer season. The collection site will be open on Saturdays ONLY from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. In the case of inclement weather,please call 303.663.6274 to ensure that the site will be open.
Acceptable items are tree branches and shrubbery with a maximum length of 6 ft. and maximum diameter of 12 inches. All loads when brought in must be covered and tied down. Stumps, roots, lumber, railroad ties, grass, dirt, household trash, loos pine needles, appliances and weeds are NOT accepted
