We are beginning our community trash cart exchange! Having renewed our contract with Apex Waste, each household may now have up to three carts in any combination you prefer, for example, two trash and one recycle, or two recycle and one trash.
As you may have noticed, our neighborhood currently has a wide variety of carts, including some older Waste Management models. Our goal is to transition to uniform Apex carts throughout the community. If you have purchased personal carts and prefer to keep them, you may do so as long as they are ANSI certified, meaning they are compatible with the truck’s automated pickup system. An ANSI-certified cart must have:
- A metal lift bar
- A width of at least 25 inches

Click here to find the delivery and old-cart removal schedule for your specific street. We will be handling the cart exchange the same way we organize the Large Item Pickup—by street. If you would like Apex to remove your old trash carts, please place them at the end of your driveway by 7:00 AM on your scheduled pickup date. Please ensure the carts are completely emptied before setting them out. Carts must be out on time to ensure removal.
